For the past few years living in CT, I have had the pleasure of being a part of Women United. This diverse, vibrant community, bound together by a powerful sense of belonging – to each other, to United Way’s mission, and to the communities we call home. Women United is a global, growing force of 70,000+ women dedicated to creating a world of opportunity— for everyone. As part of WU, I have participated as a planning committee member for our signature event every year. This year is the 10th anniversary of the event and I was honored to be asked to Co-Chair the event. I did not hesitate and jumped right in. COVID-19 has affected us all. My local United Way has been working alongside community partners to respond to the consequences that the ongoing pandemic is having on members of our community, particularly those already walking a financial tightrope. Today I am hosting my Co-Chair Isabela Danielsen and our Key Note Speaker Lucinda Cross. During our conversation, these women and I discuss why it matters to us to impact this world and how our journey as dynamic women has lead us to support other women to be their best and be afforded opportunities that can be life-changing. I love coming together with girlfriends to talk about confidence, what inspires us and how we can create a legacy in the world.
